2021 Aston Martin DBS vs DB11 vs Vantage vs Roadster

Devotees of classic performance cars need no introduction to the Aston Martin brand. Producing models that are icons of British design, the copmany has a prestige and style unlike any other. And while the marque is steeped in history and heritage, the 2021 lineup boasts a thoroughly modern selection of cars, all of them leaders in their class.

2021 ASTON MARTIN TRIMS

Perhaps the four most popular models in the 2021 Aston Martin range are the DBS, the DB11, the Vantage, and the Vantage Roadster. Here's what you need to know when deciding which is the perfect Aston Martin for you.

- Aston Martin DB11

The DB11 is a two-door, four-seater coupe that's also available in a convertible version. The base engine is a 4.0L V8 pushing out an impressive 503 horsepower and 513lb-ft of torque, channelled to rear-wheel drive through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

But if even this power isn't enough, upgrading to the DB11 AMR model brings a 5.2L V12 into play, pushing the horsepower up to a mammoth 630 hp, while increasing the torque a touch to 516lb-ft. But whichever powertrain you choose, the DB11 will reward you with a head-turning profile that's the definition of high-end sports car class.

ASTON MARTIN DBS

The Aston Martin DBS offers a similar two-door, four-seater coupe body to the DB11 but upgrades the engineering to make it even more impressive. The 5.2L V12 makes an astonishing 715 horsepower and 663lb-ft of torque, again paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

As with the DB11, there's also a convertible version going under the name of the Superleggera Volante, but aside from the format change, this model boasts identical engineering under the hood.

- Aston Martin Vantage

The Vantage is another two-door coupe, but this time forgoes the rear seating to concentrate fully on a two-seater sports experience. The 4.0L V8 pushes out 503 horsepower, as with the DB11, but the clear difference with this model is the option of a seven-speed manual transmission to replace the automatic. Combine this with the resolutely rear-wheel drive, and you can expect a thrillingly hands-on driving experience.

- Aston Martin Vantage Roadster

ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE

The Roadster is the convertible version of the Vantage, fitted with a soft top that rolls down automatically in just under seven seconds. Power down the roof, rev up the throaty V8, and you'll experience an Aston Martin drive like no other.

The Roadster is the newest model in the Aston Martin lineup, and is equipped with a comprehensive range of high-tech features, from an 8" infotainment touchscreen to blind spot monitoring and other advanced driver assist features. However, it's also excellent value for money, with a starting price of around $180,000.
